General Data Protection Regulation Policy (GDPR) – these are the new regulations that come into use replacing the previous 1995 Data

Protection Directive (Directive 95/46/EC).

 I, Ellen Boylin as owner of Fat Fairy Jewellery, am the data controller of your personal information as it relates to my website and/or Facebook page.

When you make an enquiry or place an order with Fat Fairy Jewellery, I will require your name, address and email details to be able to either answer your enquiry or deal with your order.  If you send an enquiry via our website, then I will receive your name and email details.

My website is hosted by and they have taken their own steps to provide extra security to compile with the new regulations.  My website, like all others, does use Cookies as standard and they advise me that these can be any of the following:-

Essential Website / Session Cookies - These are strictly necessary cookies that enable your site to function as intended and are mainly used by online shops.

Analytical / Performance Cookies - These enable us, Create, to monitor the performance of your site (page loading speeds, etc) to ensure that everything is functioning correctly.

Functionality Cookies - These enable your customers to be recognised when they return to your site to improve their user experience, for example, if they have a user account with you, they may remember their details so they can log in faster.

I never use or pass on your details to third party companies and the only circumstances in which I would share your data is in processing your order or complying with the law. I never share information for marketing purposes or any other purpose, other than those listed below:-

  • To fulfil your order placed with us – including creating address labels to be able to post your order to you via Royal Mail
  • To comply with the legal and tax obligations of the UK

I will only retain your details for as long as necessary in order to process the transaction and I will securely store any data collected during that period. 

This will be stored electronically on a password protected computer/laptop.  I retain personal data related to orders or customer queries for six years and after this time all information will be deleted.
